Owner Type option when Binding with a Role

We have attempted to convert our DBA's to utilize Role based security instead of granting direct access to user-specific ID's in order to comply with certain audit standards. The one limitation keeping us from utilizing role based admin security is the fact that we cannot properly perform Plan and Package binds using our Roles. By default if you bind a Plan or Package using a Role DB2 assumes that the owner of the plan or package is also a Role. Since we do not perform application level security using Roles the ID's that we delegate as the owners of our plans and packages, which is the ID that also has the relevent access to the tables for any actions perfromed by those plans and packages, is not and cannot be a role.

We are proposing an additional bind option that would allow you to specify the owner type of a plan or package. This would allow us to tell DB2 that we would like the owner to be a standard authorization ID and not a role.
