Datagate authnetification using user / certificate

«

At the present time we’re using Datagate to replicate in a live stream our DB2 z databases on DB2 LUW (Linux one) instances.

This replication is done using a fixed user/password to connect to our DB2z instances. As it’s not recommended by our security standards, we’d like to use a client/server certificate based authentication thanks to an AT-TLS rule.

This kind of rule is already used by other products, please find attached an example.

We indeed see the value in the proposal to allow authentication with a certificate instead of username/password. The feature should be implemented. The implementation effort for the feature is large because it requires changes in most of the Data Gate components.

We still haven't done the complete planning for features and enhancements until the end of 2023. Thus, we still cannot commit to a timeframe at the moment. We will prioritize the feature highest and update you again once a timeline can be shared.
