FTM allows user searches via FTM UI to impact transaction performance

This defect was reported in case TS002616911. IBM L3 will not address this defect via the PMR process.

We are looking for a permanent fix to configure a timeout for FTM user searches where FTM/DB would kill the database work after X seconds and present a user friendly message to the user like “Your search is taking too long. Please narrow the search criteria and try again”.

Due to this issue, we are experiencing WebSphere hung threads and transaction performance degradation for FTM's get CXC participant view service. IT teams are handling emergency incidents to identify and manually kill long running queries that are created as a result of FTM user searches.

This has been addressed by establishing a configurable a maximum number of rows returned by any UI Query, and if that number is exceeded, we don't execute the query.
