Entity Identifier converted to String in Match360 Data Explorer to allow for complex searches

We've come across the limitation in Master Data Explorer's advanced search, where entity identifier with a condition of "starts with" or "ends with" breaks upon searching. The reason - as explained by Master Data Explorer Development Team - is that "the current limitation within the product caused by the storage of the Entity Identifier as a number, rather than as a string. Consequently, applying conditions intended for text data types (such as 'contains,' 'starts_with,' or 'ends_with') is not feasible".

The workaround provided was to use conditions "less than" or "greater than", but that doesnt work for our queries.

The proposed solution is to convert entity_identifier from a number to a string, to enable advanced searches completely, and allow for sampling of entity identifiers for example.
