Thank you for the feedback. In the 15.0.1 release an option was added to get an error/warning if strings are truncated during an INSERT, UPDATE or MERGE statement, even in non-ANSI databases

Comments noted and planned for future release at this time
The comment about this RFE doesn't consider many factors:
1- The issue allows for data loss independently of encryption being used or not.
2- The reference to a warning hides the fact that the warning already exists, but the applications will not check. We need the option to raise an error like the RFE https://ideas.ibm.com/ideas/INFX-I-8
3- The suggestion that this was replaced by EaR doesn't make sense because both features exist and have different objectives
Dear Customer,
We reviewed this ideas and the mechanism mentioned in the request is replaced by Encryption at Rest functionality that was released in later releases in Informix.
