Please add Hierarchical Stage Assembly Editor in DataStage Designer without Adobe Flash

Currently the Hierarchical Stage Assembly Editor in DataStage Designer requires Adobe Flash. The new Data Flow Designer by no means matches the capabilities and richness of DataStage Designer. Please provide the capability of editing the Assembly in a Hierarchical Stage natively within DataStage Designer without using Adobe Flash. Requesting this in version 11.5 onwards.

    Adobe Flash V32 blocks content since 12 january 2021. As long as you have this version on your clientmachine you can add the following lines to the mms.cfg.

    EnableAllowList=1

    AllowListUrlPattern=https://servicestier:port/ibm/iis/ds/

    The assembly editor will then work again.

    After deletion of Flash you have the choice of using DFD or Harman Flash.

    Last week I have a lot of questions about Assembly option in Designer. Most of my customers use flash version (some of them still has 11.5 version without DFD) and after flash disable they didn’t know what to do. DFD component version is non usable to more complex processes in Hierarchical stage.

    Why you couldn’t port flash version into HTML5 one. There are tools (that IBM use) which convert fla code into HTML5 automatically. You force users into DFD which is currently much worse that Designer

    Thank you for your quick response. Our license is only for a Server engine and not for a parallel engine. Data Flow Designer does not do Server jobs. So in effect we cannot use Data Flow Designer.

    Thank you for your idea. We are working to find any workarounds that may allow customers to continue to use Flash past the EOL date this year. At this time, we do not plan to update the Hierarchical Stage in the Windows client and would recommend customers pursue workarounds to continue using FLASH or move to the DataStage Flow Designer at version 11.7.x where the stage has been reimplemented.

    Please see this notice that was sent out in January of this year:
