Integration with Spectrum Scale object storage

IBM is involved in implementing data integration solution for State Bank of India using DataStage (version 11.7) and Spectrum Scale (version 5.05). DataStage is supposed to read / write object storage data hosted in Spectrum Scale using Swift protocol. However, there is not appropriate stage in DataStage to perform this activity.

As an alternative we tried to use 'Cloud Object Storage' connector to perform this work but it is not working. While writing data in Spectrum Scale, there is checksum mismatch happening due to which data is not getting persisted in object storage bucket. Please refer to sample error: INFO: Unable to verify integrity of data upload. Client calculated content hash (contentMD5: 47C6C323E93FD3330CA11C2BD500D8C6 in hex) didn't match hash (etag:af5526f973b57ee28bb03cbbf91fd5c1 in hex) calculated by Amazon S3. You may need to delete the data stored in Amazon S3. (bucketName: tango, key: WRITE.CSV.0, uploadId: ZGZjOTYyNTUtYTdlMi00ZjE3LTlmYTEtNWI4MDY4YzUzYTY5, partNumber: 1, partSize:550)

At this moment we don't see any other option to resolve this issue.

This is most critical issue for the customer and we are in make or break situation. Unless this problem get resolve we are not in a position to implement the solution.

Please provide a new connector in DataStage which can connect to Spectrum Scale using Swift protocol. Enhance of 'Cloud object storage' connector (Swift protocol enabled) will also serve our purpose.

Thank you for submitting this idea.

We made this feature available through a new connector (Generic S3). It will also be part of the future official delivery of Information Server.

In the meantime, you can get the patches (JR64674 and JR64706) to update your information server environment. For this, please contact the IBM support and reference those APARs numbers.
