Request Ranger Support for SPSS

Our company uses hive tables to validate data in hadoop. We use an application called Ranger to control authorization to hdfs and hive. Since we use Ranger the actual hdfs file permissions and hive access controls are not used by us. Currently it seems that if a user does not have explicit hdfs file system permissions to a table location in hdfs they cannot see a hive table within spss analytic server hcatalog data source viewer. The work around we have for this right now is to set the permissions on the table locations to 777. While this works ok for DEV it will not be acceptable for Prod. We would like SPSS to support permissions granted through Ranger. As part of the referenced PMR we met with some development folks from IBM and Badri Krishnamoorthy understands this issue and said he could take it up.
