Support of Lookup table type attribute in Lookup Table Specifications in Business UI.

Hi Team,

The support of Lookup table type attribute in Lookup Table Specifications which has been removed from Business UI now.

It will be good if we keep supporting that option as we see multiple use cases where need to have lookup referencing other lookup to maintain the referential integrity. Supporting that via a String Enumeration Rule breaks the integrity and thus need of a manual sync up in case there are changes to a parent lookup description value.

Example based on the current David Jones requirements: -

Size Group Lookup and Sizes Lookup are two separate reference data being maintained. However, we need to keep a mapping between Size Group and Sizes mappings in order to support showing specific sizes for a size group for items data. Now in that mapping table if we populate those 2 Lookups data description values by String enumeration rule, in case of a change in Size Description, I will have to manually update the data in this mapping table. However, if we support lookup table attribute types in lookup specification, it won’t be a challenge as we will always show the lookup tables data for Sizes and Size Group in the mapping table which will help keep the referential integrity.

Thanks,

Soumya Suresh
