on 11.4 workbench, we had a way to enable extension by overriding "extendableInline=true" as indicated bellow. In 11.6 workbench, we tried the same but were not able to get around the restriction.
We are in upgrade process and this has become a sticking point for us. In order to maintain the backward compatibility, having this ability is essential.
4. Resolving the compilation issues related to XPrivPref:
1. Extract the contents of com.ibm.mdm.server.referencemodels.jar stored in the com.ibm.mdm.tools\server_bundles\mdm folder that the Workbench specifies for Preferences->MDM->Application location.
C:\IBM\SDP11\com.ibm.mdm.tools\server_bundles\mdm (ie com.ibm.mdm.server.referencemodels_11.4.0.FP00IF000_20140924-0832.jar).
2. Back up com.ibm.mdm.server.referencemodels.jar
3. Using a text editor on BusinessService.mdmxmi, locate the line containing type="mdm:MDMEntity" name="PrivPref" . Setting extendable="true" extendableInline="true" would allow side-table extensions. Having made this change update the JAR file with the modified mdmxmi file.
4. After above change, close and reopen RAD. Then you should be able to create data extension of privpref

This feature has been superceded by IBM Consent Management, and while still supported, it is no longer being enhanced. Benefits of IBM Consent Management over PrivPref are highlighted in this section of the Knowledge Center. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSWSR9_11.6.0/com.ibm.swg.im.mdmhs.consent.doc/topics/consent_plan_privprefs.html
Thank you Madhav for the request. I will investigate and update here.
