Mexico uses points to express decimal separators, the same convention as the United States. This, of course, is critical for banking applications and regulations. We currently face problems because our Mexico clients need to configure OpenPages in Spanish, but numbers follow the convention used in Spain which is comma separators for decimals. We are currently facing this problem with implementation of the product is one of the Mexico's biggest banks.
Mexico's economy is slightly bigger than Spain's and the number of speakers in more than double. Also, Mexico is the United States number one trading partner.
With a growing baking sector, we think this feature is critical for the platform.
It is important to note, that Mexico's locale has particularities that makes it different to that of Spain's or the United States'. For example, dates format is DD/MM/YYYY, note that days come before months.
