IBM has considered the request. While we understand the request, it is unlikely to be addressed in the next 18 months. If this request receives continued customer interest, it may be resubmitted for consideration after 18 months from the submit date.
We are struggling the same thing. No report exists to enable a proper evaluate of licence count per user. IBM solution architects, who were build the security, also do not seem to know, how we can get to the count (at least there was no query/report offered as such) There are only reporting fragments which even we think are sometimes not correct. Backend queries have to be requested via Cloud Ops teams and we cannot get our hands on (have to take what is already there but not working).
I am glad to read that more information will be available now, as in October it was announced that more information will be shared within 90 days.
This tool, indeed, would be an excellent idea, due to the fact, that we, the customers, have to develop ourselves a way to identify the licenses that we are using, and not always with success.
IBM really needs to provide a tool or the queries that will produce a report of what license type each user has.
We have spent too many hours developing a method that attempts to report on license usages based on the convoluted definitions and the limitation of OpenPages to get at the user data. The canned User related reports in OpenPages do not come close to compiling the needed license usage assessment.
It is an unacceptable expense to expect OpenPages customers to decipher the license criteria and each develop their our own custom methods of evaluating OpenPages Licenses usage using Cognos and Excel.
The license criteria leaves far too much to interpretation and despite our efforts to develop our own methods to decipher our license usage we cannot be sure that our interpretation of the license criteria and our methods to assess our users is correct. IBM needs to provide a tool or set of queries that can be used in Cognos, and protect its customers from possible incorrect methods of how we might be assessing licenses.
