Email notifications on Reporting Framework Generation status in IBM OpenPages

Why it is useful?

Generating reporting framework generation in IBM Openpages takes a longer time from 4 hours - 8 hours or sometime even more upto 40 hours. It is not possible to keep monitoring whole time during the process.

Many times it gets failed due to some reasons in between  and admin( or any user) get to know about it only when he logins again or refresh. Next, issue has to be fixed and start generation from the start again.  So as of now there is no immediate notification about failure or success status to user. Here we loose many valuable hours and deliverables get delayed.

Report Author, Report Users, Application Users

 

How it should work?

 

Idea is to implement some code which will send email to Admin about Reporting Framework Generation status on failure or on Success.

Post getting the status

if it is success , Report authors can proceed their work with report development with generated framework package

if it is failed notification, Admin or responsible member can look into issue immediately  to fix it and generate framework again to get it success.

    IBM has considered the request, and it will not be delivered in the future. If this request receives continued customer interest (It has only received 1 Vote so far), it may be resubmitted for consideration after 12 months from the submit date.
