IBM Data Platform Ideas Portal for Customers

This portal is to open public enhancement requests against products and services offered by the IBM Data Platform organization. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).

Shape the future of IBM!

PAW - Single Cell Visualisation Synchronisation Correction

In PAW v2.1.2 it was possible to use a single cell visualisation dynamically for a 2 dimensional cube (particularly useful when visualising element attribute data).

However between 2.1.2 and 2.1.12 a decision had been made to lock this visualisation down, and so it now can only be used as a static visualisation for any 2 dimensional views used which has then broke the majority of the single cell visualisations I have created. If a third dimension exists, then this, if held as a filter, will be dynamic and so can be synchronised.

The issue therein is I have data in element attributes that I want to be able to visualise in this manner, which is now no longer possible without creating a 3 dimensional cube to hold element attribute data with a pointless third dimension. In talking with support they advised using the Exploration visualisation, however, this visualisation does not offer resolution/font scaling and also should any new elements/rows be added, and a user were to select that element, it would conform to default row height behaviour and therefore the single cell would be too small to view.

What I believe should have been done, is as with all other visualisations, the dimension synchronisation controls should not be greyed out, allowing the creator to decide whether or not they wish to toggle the row and column dimensions synchronisation.
