Private view for PAW Books

User have been looking for options to save their choice of filters and preferences for PAW books. This would save unproductive time for repeatedly selecting the filters to a desired view. This is specially tedious if the filters have large sets to choose from.

In the existing TM1 world, we have a feature called private view for a cube. So the user can select the private view which opens up to the desired state of user specific filters. This feature is in Architect / Perspective.

Real life scenario:

In a retail business there are 1000 stores which sit under different hierarchies. Each store has many departments and if we go further deep, these departments would have products and tasks which is way to granular. So for a user who is doing an analysis on a PAW book which is shared, he has to filter his desired store and task and product each time and for each tab.

#Workaround

Currently there is no workaround.

#Users impacted

Anyone who uses PAW books would face this

#Benefits

  1. Saves loads of unproductive time wasted in filtering

  2. Users can pick up from the place where they have left their analysis

  3. Saves manual errors.

This idea is not under consideration for the current Planning Analytics roadmap. Note that Workspace already support Analyst role users saving their own cube view (from an existing book or cube view asset) in their personal folder. We do not intent to support linking the cube view widget in public books to views in a users personal folder (that could impact the synchronization model). We investigating other methods to make specific data sets available to specific users, working on the same books, most likely to be impemenented in the Plans and Application area.
