Book/report level expressions for PAW

It would open a lot of development opportunities if we could have book/report level expressions in PAW. By this I mean having calculations/query running only at the report/book level and not necessarily in a cube/dimension.

What I'm looking for is a query editor a bit akin to report studio in Cognos Analytics where we could pull/combine a series a variables to produce a string or numeric value which we can there translate into a text/numeric widget on the report or inject into Web page Url, Image Url, Action buttons parameters, Navigation, text items.

I'd envisage the expression editor to work a bit akin to the rules editor in that you could use rule like functions DB, TM1User etc... to generate the expression. In addition there would need to be a way to grab/link existing synchronisations from the same book.
