Do you have any ETA for this feature in PAW ? We are using synchronization tiles (dimension selector) for almost all of our dashboards and templates created in PAW. Even for TM1 websheets published via PAX we still have hidden SUBNMS functions with dimension selectors on top of them to get them in synch and provide users with the same look and feel across the board. Essentially they need a way to select multiple elements, ideally using a check box, like in other BI tools. Ultimately, I think it is going to be a major improvement having the option to create calculations directly in the set editor. Please see attached image showing where we would like to see this multiple selection option. Thanks !
Changed to future consideration state. We would like to support building calculations directly in the set editor, instead of just row and column axis of the cube viewer. We would also like to consider multi-selection of members in the list widget (not cube viewer) to build ad-hoc consolidations.
Given that this feature has actually been DELIVERED why is the status still "not under consideration"?
(Yes it is a bit roundabout, the user must do the multi-select on rows or columns and create the MDX aggregate there and then drag the hierarchy to filter. But nevertheless this functionality is currently available in Workspace for quite a few versions).
This would be a great feature, rows and header calcs are a workaround, but on the fly selections of multiple values and aggregation of these is a neat feature to have.
IBM Team, this is a real bummer.
Here's the scenario: I want to provide a multi-select selector widget that will allow the user to select multiple members for a pre-formatted report that we as admins have built for them. The user should be able to select five different members and allow reports to filter based off of those five members. This is now standard functionality within Analytics tools. It is unrealistic to assume that by providing user-defined calcs, it's going to solve all aggregation issues. We limit the usability of PA by not attacking this one.
Why is this maked as will not implement when Paul Glennon demoed this exact capability yesterday during the online conference?
Essentially the feature is now there and available! (which is great). It is just that it is available via the "add calculation" feature and so needs to be initiated on row of column set and then dragged to the context. All this ER represents is an easer and more intuitive way to achieve the same result. Now that the capability exists it would seem the very definition of a quick win to allow an alternative way to create an aggregate calculation via multi-select of elements on context dimensions and ceate the calculated member automatically in the background.
At this point there is no intention to implement this feature. Adhoc aggregation capabilities have been implemented using the calculation feature.
