Request is for ELIMS to be imported into LSF Simulator

Currently LSF Simulator only permits LIMS resources, not ELIMS. All LSF clusters use both LIMS and ELIMS therefore there why would Simulator only support LIMS resources and not ELIMS

The Simulator models the behaviour of the SCHEDULER not the behaviour of the external environment.

Elim's are used to report on the external environment, and as per the documentation "Dynamic resources that are reported from the elim process are converted to fixed resources when loading the LSF configuration".

This means that rather than an elim reporting "live" values (from say a license server), there is an equivalent numeric resource created in the simulator configuration that can be used to represent the licenses available to the simulation, which will be counted/updated as jobs consume them.

Feeding "live" elim data from the outside world into the simulator would have little value (especially when time compression is enabled) and indeed, you would not want the simulation environment to consume the external elim values (and thus cause them to update ....ie you wouldn't want to tie up expensive application licenses to processes within the simulator).

As such, adding this capability to the simulator does not make sense.
