Sleep processor

A user's job is to stay in an asleep/hung state, which shows RUN on the LSF side. (due to some zombie process)

On the LSF side, I would be nice to have, if the process is in a sleep state for 10 minutes and then kill/stop the process/job.

Having an argument option on specific bsub commands (( like the -W )).

Something like. >> bsub --time-out 5m

This is very application dependent and would be difficult to implement as a generic feature, as such, this does not align with our future roadmap.
Also a zombi process, in general, is unkillable, so this wouldn't really help with that scenario.

There are two existing features which you could leverage to implement:

    • JOB_IDLE can be used to trigger a custom action when the ratio of cputime/runtime falls below a threshold (ie the job is excessively sleeping)

    • WATCHDOG allows you define you own application specific health check that is periodically invoked.
