This is special requirement due to the scan tool, not generic. The solution should be outside Symphony, for example, not set the audit dir with +x, just copy the audit/ with +x before the scan.
To clarify, EGO_AUDIT_LOG_INHERIT_PERMISSION is enabled so that a log scanning tool can track the audit logs. However, the tool also needs execute privilege on the audits directory. Because EGO_AUDIT_LOG_INHERIT_PERMISSION directly inherits the permission bits from the audits directory, it results in audit log files with +x also. This will likely end up getting flagged as a security issue. The ability is needed to stop +x being applied to the log files.
