Add more details to the description if a project couldn't be integrated with git

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

Some of our users of the platform have a usecase when they want to create a git integrated project from a git repository to which they only have read access. This repository might be not earlier integrated with CP4D so it would lack the assets/ assetypes/ and other git pre-requisites that the git repository needs to function with CP4D.

Unfortunately when that happens the users only get a non-descriptive error in the UI that they weren't able to create the project. It is not because they don't have access to the project but more because CP4D Watson Studio project forces the first action to be a git push on the repository to remedy the lacking file structure in the repo.

Every time this happens user go to the platform administrators and we as admins need to go straight into portal-projects service logs to figure out what was missing.

Could the git integration be improved around the topic? I see two options:

  1. If the project was impossible to create then provide a descriptive message to the users showcasing the commit that CP4D was unable to push during project creation

  2. If it is possible to NOT force CP4D to push that commit then create the project, create the commit but just don't push it and leave it to the project owners to push the change if they want to do it and they would want to use the git integration after they have write enabled for them on the repository at some point.

It's not just the case for general "read-only" access to git repositories but it could also be the case that some branches on a repository have rules enforced that for example only allow commits as Pull Requests. It would be good that the users actually see the git error message in the UI so that they can remedy the situation on the git repository side before continuing or they simply change the branch.
