Multiple SDU models per Collection

in my domain of business, clients put different kind and format of documents in the same collection. We need the possibility to have multiple SDU models in the same collection. Every SDU model get applied to a specific set of files identified by a filename/format filter.

My customer keeps ALL their documents in one document management system.  Includes policys, procedures, emails, spreadsheets, presentations, photos, scanned documents, magazines, and more.  The scanned documents come from all over the place.  Some document types are common and highly structured, others are very free form.

For example the client will create one collection for a specific brand of equipment (haul truck). In the collection, you will have different kind of PDF files (manuals, diagrams, specifications, ....), all kind of reports in Word, Excel or Power Point format.

The client have access only to four collections in the Pilot phase, but as well, the client want to group the documents by asset class.

Thank you for submitting this idea. To understand better your client's situation and use case, can you tell us what can of different documents are put in the same collection, and why your client doesn't have multiple collections (one for each type of document)?
