CATMAINT / ENFM REORG enhancement

CATMAINTs and ENFM REORGs causes major disruption if running alongside current workload. Continuous availabilty requirements means sign-off for planned DB2 outages (version upgrades or catalog reorgs) are very difficult to obtain/justify.

Allow SYSTOOLS and SYSFUN schemas to be permitted separate from SYSCTRL

Currently, SYSCTRL is required for creation of procedures/functions with schemas SYSFUN or SYSTOOLS, i.e. when running DSNTIJRT. We would like schemas such as "SYSTOOLS" and "SYSFUN" to be able to be permitted/granted separately from SYSCTRL, as S...

With RACF-exit, support auth cache refresh for RACF profiles with RACFVARS

Currently RACF ENF signals for the DB2 auth cache refresh are ignored if the profile contains a &RACFVAR class variable. This blocks the practical use of these profiles. In our case we have on one sysplex two different sets of DB2 subsystems(o...

Optimization access paths currently used for SELECTs should also apply to UPDATEs (and DELETEs)

Performant SQL Windowing functionality

We tried to use the syntax for windowing in SQL as an alternative to using subselects. Most other DBMSs perform a lot better with the windowing syntax, but we can only see less performance using it. The reason we want to use it is basically to get...

zDb2 should provide option to not write RACF statistics without coding any Db2 Signon Exit (DSN3SSGN)

Banca d'Italia, for many good reasons, wants to get rid of any user written assembler exit, including DSN3SSGN .They use DNS3SSGN only with the specific purpose to not collect RACF statistics and so they have modified it by adding STAT=NO on each ...

Row Change Timesatmp with Precision 12 and Timezone

Index on expression should be used when outer join is rewritten (by the optimizer) as an inner join

When coding the following query (or, generalized query), an index on expression for UPPER(RTRIM(TABB.COLA)) is not used: SELECT ... FROM .... TABA LEFT JOIN TABB ON .... WHERE UPPER(RTRIM(TABB.COLA)) = ? In the above query, it is (originally) writ...
