Add a Feature to Replicate Microseconds Portion of Timestamp

We use IIDR CDC on z/OS for replication using DB2 data on z/OS as the source and a flat file on a non-z/OS platform as the target. We have encountered a situation where the microseconds portion of the timestamp value on a DB2 z/OS table is not retained when it is replicated on the target. This is normal and expected behavior per IBM IIDR CDC development.

We would like to have a feature added to the IIDR CDC product that will replicate the microseconds portion of a Timestamp value from a DB2 z/OS source table without having to use “source derived expression” and/or an User Exit for each table/subscription.

    [IBM Update]

    Hi,

Thank you for filing this requirement and for your interest in keeping CDC a vital and successful technology. We depend on your continued interest and ideas to help ensure our products keep pace with market needs and industry standards.

Although we do agree that your request is valid, after monitoring your request for more customer demand over the last few years and applying other relevant evaluation criteria, unfortunately we won't be able to accept your request at this time. However, if there is still an important business need, we encourage you to file a new idea accompanied with any additional information that could help us prioritize the requirement in the future.
