Integrate with Hashicorp External Vault with alternate method (not token based) such as VaultStaticSecret

We have been able to successfully configure Cloud Pak for Data to integrate with HashiCorp External Vault to retrieve content of secrets.

we have used token to authenticate against the external vault. The token issued has to be rotated as it expires regularly, and so potentially impacts

Are there any other methods (outside of token) supported by CPD to authenticate against HashiCorp External Vault? 

The HashiCorp team has asked if any other auth mechanism. They have suggested the use of VaultStaticSecret (see example in https://developer.hashicorp.com/vault/docs/platform/k8s/vso/examples#using-vaultstaticsecrets-for-imagepullsecrets).
