New Db2 REST Service Discovery Authority

Since a security loophole was closed it is now only possible to discover REST services via the Db2 supplied Db2ServiceManager API that the user has authority to execute. We feel this goes against the open API economy that we are currently in, where users should be able to discover what API's are available but without needing the explicit authority to execute them in advance, which would go against our own internal security model. An additional authority should therefore be created to allow REST service discovery without the need to grant execute authority.

    Dear Mark, Thank you for submitting this Db2 for z/OS enhancement request. We have reviewed this request and believe it is a good candidate for the Db2 for z/OS product. However, it does not align within functionality prioritized for delivery within the next 12 months. Therefore, unfortunately, we will not be considering this idea at this time.

    It will remain in our backlog inventory and we may revisit this in the future. Users are able to continue casting votes for it which helps us understand the importance it may have to the broader user community.
