DECFLOAT support for COBOL and PLI with DCLGEN

When we run DCLGEN on an object with a DECFLOAT column, we get the following error:

DSNE958I DCLGEN DOES NOT SUPPORT THE SQL DATA TYPE DECFLOAT (SQLTYPE 996) FOR THE PLI LANGUAGE

DSNE905I EXECUTION COMPLETE, MEMBER ... ADDED

The created DECLARE and DCL statements with the DECFLOAT column are wrong and

must be manually adjusted before it can be used.

Example - DCLGEN output:

EXEC SQL DECLARE T7.TBBBZ TABLE

( MANDANT INTEGER NOT NULL,

VTR_NR INTEGER NOT NULL,

P_ID INTEGER NOT NULL,

BZ_ART_SKZ INTEGER NOT NULL,

WIRKAB INTEGER NOT NULL,

CREATE_DAT TIMESTAMP NOT NULL,

ANSCHRIFT_ID INTEGER NOT NULL,

ANT_BTR NOT NULL, <- column type specification is missing

ANT_BTR_PROZ NOT NULL, <- column type specification is missing

ANT_VERLAUF_JN CHAR(1) NOT NULL,

….

DCL 1 DCLTBBBZ,

5 MANDANT BIN FIXED(31),

5 VTR_NR BIN FIXED(31),

5 P_ID BIN FIXED(31),

5 BZ_ART_SKZ BIN FIXED(31),

5 WIRKAB BIN FIXED(31),

5 CREATE_DAT CHAR(26),

5 ANSCHRIFT_ID BIN FIXED(31),

5 ANT_BTR , <- column type specification is missing

5 ANT_BTR_PROZ , <- column type specification is missing

5 ANT_VERLAUF_JN CHAR(1),

Please support the SQL data type DECFLOAT for the PLI and COBOL language.

Dear Udo, Please accept our apology for this delayed update. We implemented the support for DCLGEN for PLI and C in 2022. Because the COBOL compiler does not support decfloat type, Db2 for z/OS does not have a way to support DCLGEN for COBOL. Therefore, this enhancement request is 'partially' delivered (the PLI portion).

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team

SInce COBOL compiler doesn't support DECFLOAT datatype yet, so there's no point for DELGEN to support it with COBOL. We should limit it to PLI only
