Allow all access paths in a cursor with FOR UPDATE

Due to the haloween-problem, some access paths are blocked for cursors with the FOR UPDATE-clause. Also for multi-row-fetch and FOR UPDATE there are restrictions if there is a IN-subquery

Hello Walter, Our Db2 for z/OS development team recently re-reviewed this Aha idea and determined that, there are not enough details about those blocked access paths and corresponding SQL with FOR UPDATE.

In general, when an access path is blocked for SQL with FOR-UPDATE, it is to ensure correct output.

Therefore, in an effort to have maximum transparency we are not considering this idea as it is not appearing on our 12 month product roadmap. We will keep this idea in our inventory. If you can add more details we'd be happy to review it again when planning our next 12 month roadmap.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS Team
