In admin Tool - Gen command lets the user control the DDL scope as well as the pending DDL scope. So the user can control if the DDL generated includes the pending change or presents the DDL excluding the pending change. The DDL command against an object does not give this option and the changes are shown incorporating the pending changes. One can argue both for and against this feature. A simple comment, currently missing, in the generated DDL lets the user know that a pending change has been shown in the final DDL for the table. This gives the user control on the appropriate action if the pending change is later dropped. I have checked this against a table and not for all other objects.
