Update fields after copying objects

Often times when copying objects there are fields that have to be reset. One example would be updating the status field after copying an object. Another use case would be to update fields after copying templates from the library.

the issue with the guidance is that it requires a previously completed workflow to be run again to be able to reset the fields the second time around. This is not always desirable as most records need to become read only when workflow is completed

Thanks again for submitting this RFE!

We believe that the prior guidance that was provided, when run against OpenPages 8.2.0.1 or later, will solve the business requirements.

If you later find that this is not the case, please either create a Customer Support Case or a New RFE here as appropriate.

    Hi Joey,

As you see above, Christophe provided guidance... Please provide feedback on whether that would solve the business requirement.

    Thanks!

I would probably use the workflow engine, (Start/Stop Stage only) attaching all the operations you would need automatically

    • Reset Fields

    • Assign owners

    • etc

    Have you tried that ?
