Formatting Overlay Cube

I have a cube with a "Measure" dimension, which has elements like "Amount", "Variance %", etc. It also has a "Scale" dimension, which has elements like "Raw", "Millions", etc. I'm trying to achieve the following outcome:

Amount, Raw = #,##0.0000000000;(#,##0.0000000000);" "

Amount, Millions = #,##0;(#,##0);" "

Variance %, Raw = #0.0000000000%;-#0.0000000000%;" "

Variance %, Millions = #0.00%;-#0.00%;" "

It would be nice to achieve this outcome with a }Format_CubeX cube (similar to a cell security cube) where the number format could be specified for all intersections in a cube.

This would allow fine control over number formatting. My model has about 400 users who would all benefit from this enhancement.

I would second this request. It would simplify, speed up production of visualisations if the format could be controlled centrally. The current format attributes help to a degree, but is dependent on dimension ordering, this would allow for complete control. If it was implemented like cellsecurity aka, have the ability to select which dimensions to use for the formatting. It would minimise the overhead. The format manager in paw books is also not advanced enough to manage format based on an combination of dimensions, and this would help address this gap

Client tools are really poorly equipped to handle the formatting requirements for TM1/Financial reporting. It makes the most sense to centralize the formatting in the server so that standardization across clients is easier. It allows REST call responses to the server to be functionally complete and ready to use.

This idea is not under consideration. The idea can continue to accumulate votes and the IBM Planning Analytics product team may reevaluate the priority of this idea at a later date.

Planning Analytics Workspace and Planning Analytics for Excel provide formatting to override what is presented by the TM1 Server. We have no plans to address limitations of formatting in TM1 Server itself as the client tools generally handle this. Adding per-cell formatting will also have an negative impact on performance.
