We are setting up a multi-factor authentication (MFA) to login to TM1. This means in Cognos Analytics we have a namespace from type “ADFS”.
Now there are some technical service users who cannot have a second factor. They can only login with 1 factor (password). For these, we leave the previous namespace (LDAP) with simple authentication in the background.
With TM1RunTI for example there is no problem as we execute a TI as service users with simple authentication via a batch file. The problem is when running an automated workflow via Perspectives. How can we open a TM1 session in Perspectives if no selection of the namespace is possible via GUI, but simply the login window for the DefaultNamespace opens?
For web sessions in a browser, it is possible to authenticate as follows:
1) Calling the logon server with namespace passing: https://<host >:<port>/bi/? CAMNamespace=<1 Factor Namespace>
2) Login as service user with 1 factor
3) Calling TM1Web of a TM1 instance with the same logon server: https:// <host >:<port>/tm1web/. Automatic login with the previous namespace user (1 factor) instead of the MFA user.
Can something like this be made for a TM1 Excel Add-in? A login via API or passing an API key to get a session in Perspectives or PAfE?

The Planning Analytics for Excel development team indicated that at this time, TM1 Datasource URI's are not expected to relay parameters, such as defining a specific namespace, but only the protocol, fully qualified host, port, and base URI.
