Custom Rollups in PAW set editor - used as filters

An important need from customers would be to create custom rollups in PAW.
The user would need to pick some elements in the set editor, create a rollup and use it as a filter, either in the selector widget or in a view.

    Hi Dev Team.

Creating custom rollups in Set Editor is one of the key requests we are constantly getting from our users.

Especially now, that we are embracing PAW and use dimension selectors, we really need this ability to review data by custom rollups as it becomes a very good replacement for multi selection options that users have seen in another tools.

Please make this enhancement possible soon! Thanks!

Thank you for your comments! We have started rolling out this work iteratively starting with a feature preview for UDCs in Custom Reports in PAfE and hope to build it out from there to introduce the functionality into other report types within PAfE and a new user experience. While this functionality in PAfE will not mirror the flow in Perspectives exactly, we are focused on the use cases covered by Perspectives in regards to this feature.

    Hello DevTeam,

    Any update on this ?

It's a show stopper in the organization I'm working for and we would really like to move away from Perspectives and adopt Planning Analytics for Microsoft Excel...

    Thx,

    Bob

    Hi Devs,

we're trying to move all our users (100 persons) from Perspective old Technology to PAX new one, the lack of this very

important functionality has stopped the process because most of their reports are based on custom rollup, they picl 2 or more elements of a dimension and then put them in a box named X and would like use the box X in custom or dinamic report. PAx doesn't support this and this is a drama.

Can you tell me if this gap is going to be closed in a short time period or not? this is important to evaluate what to do with Perspective....

    i appreciate your help.

    Hello dear Dev Team,

can you tell us the current status for this topic?

This function is very important for the business sector as you can create new consolidations on the fly and then give it to your colleagues for checking or further considerations!

This function is existing in Perspectives.
    In Pax only partly at the surface; I tested now with the version 69 and I'm a bit confusing;

in the tree pane in PAX you can see the elements of the new Subset (Subset in Subset), however, if you want to edit this or to use it, you only get the normal elements, but not the new Subset-C-Level-element.

I hope, you can do it in the near future!

    Hoping for the best!
    Thank you in advance.

Giving it a Push. Please Development, try to consider that Enhancement. It would make PAW outstanding. Its a highly missed feature in all Projects.

When is this functionality to be expected?

Even today you can use the calculation capability in a PA Workspace table to create a custom SUM or AVERAGE of several members and then move that new calculation to context.

It the future you'll be able to create an Aggregate Consolidation that respects the cube rules and use that in the same way, but it will be done in the table, not the Set Editor initially.

It would be usefull if users could see the rollup through DBR/DBRW functions
