Add Hijri calendar support to IBM Cognos Analytics

Enable Hijri (Um Al Qura) calendar support in Cognos Analytics:

  • User profile preferences

  • "Calendar type" (like Gregorian and Japanese Imperial) in each of the following:

    • Reporting and Dashboards, the Data format dialog, when formatting as date or date and time

    • Reporting, properties of the "Date prompt" and "Date & time prompt"

    • Modeling and Framework Manager, in the Data Format property, when formatting as Date

This requires the below conversions to be implemented as well:

  • from the Gregorian date value to the Hijri date value when displaying data that is formatted as Date with Hijri calendar as the selected calendar type

  • from the Hijru date value to the Gregorian date value when sending parameters to the data source


Clients affected:
Major government and private sector clients in the gulf area of the Middle East require this feature as part of country regulations.
