To add a built in REVERSE( ) function in the SQL of DB2

CCB want to add an build-in REVERSE( ) function in the SQL of DB2 for z/OS. There is an alternative way of using UDF, but customer worry about it's perfromance, they prefer to add an build-in REVERSE( ) function in SQL. The REVERSE function is used to reverse alphabetical order of a string, for example REVERSE("ABCD") will return "DCBA".

Thank you for your idea. Development has reviewed it and determined it could be done in a UDF - but it is not likely to be prioritized high enough for us to deliver in the next two years. Therefore, we will not be implementing this idea.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 Development Team
