Message when IFI interface and monitor traces are disabled due to errors

When the IFI abend count reaches some hardcoded number which is not externalized this results in the disabling of all IFI request and MONITOR trace processing. Then when an application tries to use IFI it receives 00E60831 but the msg only goes to the application. It is not output to DB2 MSTR or SYSLOG. Application users are spread around the world, speak different languages and often don't have DB2 technical skills. They might never tell a DB2 systems programmer that the application they are using got a 00E60831.
We would like a message displayed to the DB2 mstr or to syslog informing us that IFI has been disabled and that monitor trace has been stopped at the time that it has occurred .

Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. While we view all the enhancement requests we receive as valuable and we would like to implement all of them, in an effort to have maximum transparency we are not considering the ones that aren’t currently appearing on our 12 month product roadmap. This is not to say that these enhancements may not still be implemented at some point in the future as we do evaluate our requirements on the basis of customer demand and technical impact, to deliver maximum value to our customers.

We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.

    Sincerely,

    Db2 for z/OS Team
