Role based data view permission in any catalog

By default, imported assets in the catalog have the option to see all data and the data profile.

For a business user that needs to query just the available data assets this will give to much options to see data.

This could be avoided by data access rules but at the end that means that for all data assets for all columns data access rules have to be defined.

We will request to have a catalog role 'Reader without data acess.'

This item is in development and planned for 4Q22 availability. Specifically this is addressed by the requirement to allow data consumers to view metadata only even when they have no access to actual data.

    Hi,

Thank you for this idea. This functionality is planned for a future release. We hope to use data protection rules to block the preview tab of data assets if the user does not have access to that.

    Thanks,

    Emma
