Set DB2 ZPARMs TSQTY and IXQTY to -1

Please would it be possible to set the DB2 for z/OS ZPARMs, TSQTY and IXQTY, to -1? Virtually all of our tablespaces and indexspaces are created with a PRIQTY and SECQTY of -1. It would be really useful to set the default values for TSQTY and IXQTY to -1 in the ZPARMs to allow our tablespaces and indexspaces to be created without PRIQTY/SECQTY parameters. Simplify tablespace and indexspace creation and allow DB2 to manage the space.

    Hello Neil,

The documentation changes to clarify that -1 is the default for the PRIQTY and SECQTY options of CREATE INDEX and CREATE TABLESAPCE are now published. See:

    Hello Neil,

Thank you for submitting this Aha! Idea. Our development team has reviewed it and indicated you can set TSQTY and IXQTY to 0, which should have the same effect as what you are asking for, to Create Tablespace and Create Index without specifying PRIQTY and SECQTY, and set zparm TSQTY and IXQTY to 0.

It should have the same effect as PRIQTY -1 and SECQTY -1.

We are also updating the syntax diagram in our IBM documentation to support the above.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or comments.

    Sincerely,

    The Db2 for z/OS team
