UTF8 conversion problem - EBCDIC

Message UTF-8 => After conversion in EBCDIC

EBCDIC_STR('Hi, my name is Андрей (Andrei)'); => Hi, my name is \0410\043D\0434\0440\0435\0439 (Andrei)

But for the character � (UTF-8 replacement character) the function returns the value X'3F' instead of \FFFD

EBCDIC_STR('Hi, my name is А� '); => Hi, my name is \0410\X’3F’.

In this case we hoped to have after translation this result : Hi, my name is \0410\FFFD.

If no possible we wish at less a warning return code.

    Dear Irene, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our Db2 for z/OS development team had continued evaluating this request and concluded that, because it does not align with functionality prioritized for delivery within the next 12 months, we will not be considering this idea at this time. We will keep it in our inventory and may revisit it at some time in the future.

    Dear Irene, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our Db2 for z/OS development team discussed this request in multiple meetings and concluded this is not something that can be implemented in Db2 V12. ln light of that, they provided multiple work arounds to try.

    We appreciate your input to the Db2 for z/OS development team. And we hope that you will continue to submit enhancement suggestions for improvements as customer feedback is a key component to shaping the future direction of Db2 for z/OS.
