SQL Data Insights - API to port a model definition from one Db2 (dev/test) to another Db2 (prod)

Most enterprise customers do not use UIs at all outside of test systems, all production work has to be automated and scripted. For example for all tasks around DDL deployment, object maintenance, etc. Regarding SQL Data Insights, the AI-enabling of a Db2 object could be such a deployment step, before an application using AI functions is being rolled out. To be able to automate the deployment of a SQL DI model definition from one Db2 system to another (or from one schema to another), APIs are required which can be embedded in scripts / JCL. Could be via command, Db2 stored procedure, other. Input for the deployment API could be a model description JSON as it exists today. But the requirement exists to adopt some parameters of the model definition during this kind of port. Example: The schema of the object to be enabled in prod often is different compared to the trained object in a non-prod system. Or, different non-prod stages exist for which an object has to be enabled via automated deployment.

    Hi Janet,

porting the content of the model table is not intended (as the data will differ between non-prod and prod or between schemas). Don't habe insight if porting an empty model table would be required in this step. The idea is to port a model definition from a non-prod Db2/schema to prod Db2/schema using command(s). The actual re-/training would be another subsequent command. For the re-/training, idea DB24ZOS-I-1456 is in "future consideration". Believe a 2-step approach would be best. a) port (this), b) train (1456)).

    Thanks and regards, Christian

Hello Christian, Thank you for submitting this enhancement request. Our SQL Data Insights team has reviewed it and would like to know, in addition to schema and model definition, do you need the model table itself to be ported? We will await your reply.

    Sincerely,

    The SQL Data Insights team
