Passphrase support for JDBC Type-2 Connection to DB2/zOS

System: Db2 z/OS
Actor: New Feature: Type-2 JCBC-Connection with passphrases support.

In some cases we have to use Type-2 JDBC database connection along with passphrases.
Actually, this feature is currently not supported as we tested following setups:

JDBC Type-2 User with password Test i.O.
JDBC Type-4 User with password Test i.O.
JDBC Type-2 User with passphrase only Test failed
JDBC Type-4 User with passphrase only Test i.O.

We kindly request that JDBC T2 should also run with passphrase secured user accounts.

Voting for this enhancement based on a Case opened regarding JDBC Type 2 passphrase support on behalf of Auto-owners Insurance. Moving to stronger passwords for our applications is a firm issue for us and we will be considering converting to type 4 in order to circumvent this limitation. If IBM wants to encourage continued use of the Type 2 driver this limitation needs to be fixed.
