< Condition >
Let's suppose,
- There are two prjects in LS, prj1 and prj2.
- There are two license features, lic1 and lic2.
- There are two free lic1 and many free lic2 are remained.
- Between prj1 and prj2, SHARE mode, 50%:50%.
So, for lic1, prj1 and prj2 has each 1 free license feature.
- The job uses -R rusage option with OR condition as like below: -R "rusage [lic1=1 || lic2=1]"
In first time, if we check LS status and information for LS, LS display as like below.
----------------------------------------------------------
License Feature: lic1
PROJECT SHARE OWN INUSE RESERVE FREE DEMAND
prj1 50.0 % 0 0 0 1 0
prj2 50.0 % 0 0 0 1 0
License Feature: lic2
PROJECT SHARE OWN INUSE RESERVE FREE DEMAND
prj1 50.0 % 0 0 0 50 0
prj2 50.0 % 0 0 0 50 0
----------------------------------------------------------
If I submit a job to prj1 with above -R usage option, this jobs will catch lic1 and number of FREE for prj1 will be changed to 0.
Prj2 has still 1 free for lic1.
So if I submit second one job to same prj1 with same -R rusage option, second job catches free lic2, not lic1 for prj2. Because, the free license is 0 for lic1 of prj1.
And, prj2 has 1 free value for lic1.
It is as like below:
----------------------------------------------------------
License Feature: lic1
PROJECT SHARE OWN INUSE RESERVE FREE DEMAND
prj1 50.0 % 0 1 0 0 0
prj2 50.0 % 0 0 0 1 0
License Feature: lic2
PROJECT SHARE OWN INUSE RESERVE FREE DEMAND
project1 50.0 % 0 1 0 0 0
project2 50.0 % 0 0 0 1 0
--------------------------------------------------------
So, customer's requirement is,
lic1 for prj2 should be transfered to prj1 when job has OR condition in -R rusage section.

We have considered this request and it would mean changing functionality that the customer base is already using and expecting to remain. As such we are not able to able to implement this.If there is broad interest for this, it can be resubmitted in 18 months.
Job application/script checkout license 'lic1' first from flexlm.
When 'lic1' has no free on flexlm, it checkout 'lic2' automatically. This is application's behavior and out of lsf control.
In case of we use -R rusage option as like [lic1=1 || lic2=1],
We expect that LS can assign 'lic1' license to the job if lic1 has free license in flexlm, even if prj1 project has free lic2 license.
