Query rewrite eliminating "always true" and "always false" predicates

We would like DB2 to be able to rewrite dynamic SQL statements that contain parameter markers by eliminating "always true" and "always false" predicates once it knows the values of the parameter markers. It often happens that such predicates are non-Boolean - i.e. connected to the rest of the search condition via an OR operator - and this prevents DB2 from choosing the most suitable index for each particular choice of parameter marker values. We are particularly interested in any search condition that is logically equivalent to "(A = A OR ...)", which is always true and therefore can be eliminated, or "(A = B OR C = D)" where A <> B (i.e. "A = B" is always false) and therefore can be rewritten as "(C = D)".

Please note that we'd like this enhancement to be made available for DB2 10.
